"This is a really, really fine recording by Tim and Danny Carter. An impressive array of rock, folk~rock, blues, bluegrass and latin infused rythyms. We could hardly wait for the next song while listening to this CD. As equally impressive is a Grammy Award winning guest list of players that they chose specificly for each track including Alison Brown, Tim O'Brien, Darol Anger, Phil Aaberg, Mike Marshall and Matt Flinner just to name a few..."CedarHouse" is a MUST HAVE!

"Yes, the Carter Brothers are kin to 'the' Carter Family, but don't let that fool you: the stuff they're peddling ain't old time mountain music. Consider the first song on their 2000 release, CedarHouse: It opens with an accordian lick and kicks off with a verse about how damn bad their bathroom smells. Its unexpected, almost startling, but its not a novelty. Both the squeezebox and the lyric serve the song, and that song, "Shelby Street", is the best on CedarHouse, itself a good album. Its a collection of weary, working-class comforts, tuneful, honest and different without insisting on it".
